The HydraHyde#174; leather tannage last the life of the gloves and does not wear off. It also helps to keep the gloves soft even after repeated use in wet applications. These gloves also offer better breathability over traditional non treated work glove leathers which improves your comfort level. These gloves are water repellent, but not waterproof.
